The Member of our Chamber ANMET has won the Polish-German Economic Award 2021 for their upcycling start-up

We are very happy to share the success of one of the members of our Chamber - ANMET has won the competition of the Polish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and received the award on October 12, 2021 during a gala organized by the Polish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Polska) in Warsaw. This is a great news for us, because the success of each member of the Chamber is a source of pride for us, as well as an inspiration for further innovative development in the non-ferrous metals and recycling industry.

The ANMET company from Szprotawa in the Polish-German border area deals with the recycling of metals and composite materials, in particular used wind turbine blades after disassembly. Until now, they have been difficult to recycle. ANMET has developed a technology to recover carbon fibers from wind turbine blades and is working on new materials and products made of recycled composites.

Together with the German partner, ANMET launched a project of re-use and market recycling of wind turbine blades. This is how the company Wings for Living was founded, which sells outdoor furniture made of propellers. Designer furniture has already found its first customers and is becoming more and more popular.

"Recycling used wind turbine blades is an imperceptible challenge of energy transformation," emphasizes Markus Baltzer, president of AHK Polska.

"ANMET is an example of how innovative Polish-German cooperation and innovative thinking can give new answers to burning questions." The Polish-German Economic Award is awarded annually by AHK and awards special innovations, successes or impulses in the Polish-German economic life. This year, 31 companies applied, and five of them became finalists of the AHK Gala, live voted by jury and the audience. More than 1,200 participants previously voted for the five finalists in an online voting.
